CHILI - CULIPRAN - NOTICIAS TERREMOTO

A las 15'30 de hoy (3-3-2010) hemos podido establecer comunicación con los Hermanos de Quinta Normal. Hemos hablado con el Hno. Marino. Aunque no hay grandes detalles nuevos añadidos a lo que ya conocemos sobre la situación que viven, resumimos algunos lo principal de la conversación mantenida.

• Todos los Hermanos están bien. Las casas muy desordenadas pero con la estructura bien.
• En la casa de Quinta Normal se ha caído una parte de la tapia que separaba el jardín de la casa vecina.
• En Quinta Normal no ha faltado agua en ningún momento. A fecha de hoy todavía no tienen luz eléctrica.
• La vida en la ciudad de Santiago es prácticamente normal. Únicamente falta alguna zona de recuperar el servicio eléctrico y algunos otros desperfectos que se ven por la calle. Hay algunas casas caídas. Se va avanzando en las tareas de desescombro. Funcionan los bancos, el comercio y los servicios de transporte (metro, bus, …)
• La zona en donde está habiendo más problema de pillaje y robos es en Concepción y alrededores, no en Santiago.
• Parece que las comunicaciones con Culiprán están próximas a entrar de nuevo en servicio.
• En Culiprán y en Llay-Llay se trabaja para poder comenzar el curso cuanto antes. Debería haber comenzado estos días pero se retrasará un poco. Esperan poder empezar en unos pocos días.

A 15h30, le 3 mars 2010, nous avons peu établir une communication avec les Frères de Quinta Normal (Santiago du Chili). Nous avons parlé avec le Frère Marino. Bien que nous n’ayons pas beaucoup de nouveau par rapport à ce que nous connaissions déjà, voici, en résumé, l’essentiel de notre conversation :

Tous les Frères vont bien. Il y a beaucoup de désordre dans les bâtiments, mais la structure a résisté.
Dans la propriété des Quinta Normal, une partie du mur de séparation entre notre jardin et le voisin est tombée.
Dans la ville de Santiago la vie est pratiquement normale. Uniquement, dans certaines zones on n’a pas récupéré l’électricité et il existe d’autres dégâts que l’on peut voir dans les rues. Certaines maisons sont démolies. On avance dans le nettoyage des rues. Les banques fonctionnent ainsi que les commercent et les transports publics (Métro, bus, …)
C’est dans la zone de Concepción et ses environs qu’ont lieu les problèmes de pillages et de vols, et non à Santiago.
Il semble que les communications avec Culiprán seront rétablies prochainement.
A Culiprán et à Llay-Llay, on travaille pour pouvoir commencer l’année dès que possible. Cela aurait dû commencer ces jours-ci, mais, il y aura un peu de retard. Nous espérons pouvoir commencer dans quelques jours.

At 15h30, on the 3rd of March 2010, we managed to communicate with the Brothers of Quinta Normal (Santiago of Chile). We spoke with Brother Marino. Though we do not have much that is new apart from what we knew already, here is, in summary the gist of our conversation :

• All the Brothers are fine. There is a lot of disorder in the buildings, but the structure resisted.
• In the property of Quinta Normal, part of the wall of separation between our garden and the neighbour collapsed.
• In the town of Santiago life is practically normal. Only, in some zones there is no electricity as yet and there are some other damages that can be seen on the streets. Certain houses collapsed. The clearing of the streets is in progress. The banks are functioning as well as trading and public transport (Métro, bus, …).
• It is in the zone of Concepción and its surroundings that there were problems of looting and thefts, and not at Santiago.
• It would appear that the communications with Culiprán will soon be re-established.
• At Culiprán and at Llay-Llay, we are working hard to be able to begin the year as soon as possible. It should have started already, but there will be a short delay. We are looking forward to begin in a few days.
