NUEVO MISIONERO EN INDONESIA -- NOUVEAU MISSIONNAIRE EN INDONESIE --
Hoy el Hermano Javier Fernández, de la Provincia de Argentina-Uruguay, ha salido de Roma hacia Indonesia, acompañado por el Hermano Gildas Prigent, Asistente general encargado de la Misión de Indonesia. La partida como misionero del Hermano Javier es una gracia para los jóvenes de Indonesia y para nuestra Misión en este país. Con su llegada, serán ya cinco los Hermanos, unos en Larantuka (isla de Flores) y los demás en Yogyakarta (isla de Java) donde se encuentran el Postulantado y el Noviciado. El Hermano Javier va a comenzar por aprender la lengua indonesia. Después podrá aportar su ardor y su fe en el servicio educativo de los jóvenes y, con sus cohermanos, hacer que la "rama menesiana" se arraigue aún más en esta tierra asiática. Los Superiores mayores que estuvieron reunidos en Castelgandolfo a primeros del mes de marzo, nos recordaron que debemos seguir desarrollando el espíritu misionero, y eso a pesar de nuestra pobreza. La Provincia de Argentina-Uruguay nos da un hermoso ejemplo enviando a uno de sus Hermanos más jóvenes cuando ella tiene gran necesidad de ellos. Con los Hermanos de esta Provincia y con los de Indonesia, podemos repetir el cántico del profeta Isaías : "Qué hermosos son sobre los montes los pies del mensajero que auncia la paz, que trae buenas nuevas y que anuncia la salvación." (Is 52, 7) El Hermano Javier es uno de estos mensajeros de paz y salvación que los jóvenes esperan. Gracias, Hermano Javier, por tu disponibilidad y tu alegría de estar con Dios y con los jóvenes.

Aujourd'hui le Frère Javier Fernandez, de la Province d'Argentine-Uruguay, est parti de Rome pour l'Indonésie, accompagné du Frère Gildas Prigent, Assistant général chargé de la mission d'Indonésie. Le départ en mission du Frère Javier est une grâce pour les jeunes d’Indonésie et pour notre mission dans ce pays. Avec son arrivée les Frères seront au nombre de cinq, les uns à Larantuka (île de Florès), les autres à Yogyakarta (île de Java) où se trouvent le Postulat et le Noviciat. Frère Javier va devoir commencer par apprendre la langue indonésienne. Il pourra ensuite apporter son ardeur et sa foi au service de l'éducation des jeunes et, avec ses confrères, permettre à la "branche mennaisienne" de prendre racine encore davantage sur cette terre d'Asie. Les Supérieurs majeurs qui étaient réunis à Castelgandolfo an début du mois de mars dernier ont rappelé que nous devions continuer de développer l'élan missionnaire, et cela malgré notre pauvreté. La Province d'Argentine-Uruguay nous en montre un bel exemple en envoyant l'un de ses plus jeunes Frères alors qu'elle en a un grand besoin. Avec les Frères de cette Province et avec ceux d'Indonésie, nous pouvons reprendre le chant du prophète Isaïe : "Qu'ils sont beaux sur les montagnes, les pieds du messager qui annonce la paix, du messager de bonne nouvelle qui annonce le salut.. ." (Is 52, 7) Frère Javier est l'un de ces messagers de paix et de salut que les jeunes attendent. Merci Frère Javier pour ta disponibilité et ta joie d’être à Dieu et aux jeunes.

With his arrival the Brothers will be five in number, some at Larantuka (island of Florès), the others at Yogyakarta (island of Java) where the Postulate and the Noviciate are. He will then bring his ardour and his faith to the service of educating the youth and, with his Brothers, permit the « Mennaisian Branch » to be deeply rooted in this Asian land. The major Superiors who had gathered at Castelgandolfo at the beginning of the month of March recalled that we had to continue developing the missionary endeavour despite our poverty. The Province of Argentina-Uruguay has given us a good example by sending one of their youngest Brothers although they greatly needed him. Together with the Brothers of this Province and those of Indonesia, we can sing the song of the Prophet Isaiah: "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of whom who brings good tidings, announcing peace, bearing good news, announcing salvation... " (Is 52, 7). Brother Javier is one of these messengers of peace and of salvation that the youth are waiting for. Thank you, Brother Javier for your availability and your joy for God and the youth.
