ÊTRE UNIS - ESTAR UNIDOS - TO BE UNITED

Here is a drawing by a pupil of Brother Raymond Ducharme, Shizuoka (Japan ). What he wrote about his design means: "The time has come to be united." This is a great lesson from the young who, on seeing his country devastated by the earthquake, saw therein an appeal for the unity of all Japanese. "It is when we are united that we are strong!"
We must also be united. I am thinking of the Mennaisian Family and the Congregation of the Brothers. If we are not united, if we allow ourselves to criticise others because they do not think like us, and if we think we are the best, then we are wrong. Let us all work to build family unity and solidarity, supporting those who are most vulnerable, forgiving those who have hurt us, rejoicing with those who are glad, and mourning with those who weep.
