BONNE ANNEE 2013 - HAPPY NEW YEAR - FELIZ ANO NUEVO
jeunes venus "chercher quelque chose
Maggiore, Santa Maria degli Angeli, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, Santa Maria in
Casa Generalizia,
Rome hosts from 28th
December to 2nd January, more than 60 young
people participating in the European
youth meeting with the Taizé
Community. Brother Gérard Chatelier, with great dedication,
welcomes until late at night those coming to rest at
the Casa after a
long but invigorating day of pilgrimage. Early
in the morning, he prepares breakfast so as to allow everyone to continue
with his/her way in communion
with 40,000 other young people
in Rome for the meeting. Brother Pierre Berthe
and other Brothers of the Community
are also helping with joy. La Casa is surprised and pleased to have within its walls so many young people who came to "find something
about the meaning of life" as
a participant from Indonesia, Maria, so aptly puts it.
In the photo above, we get a glimpse of the meeting of young people gathered in the Basilica of St. John Lateran for the evening prayer. Common prayers take place in seven major churches of Rome: the Basilicas of Saint John Lateran, Saint Paul outside the Walls, Saint Mary Major, Santa Maria degli Angeli, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, Santa Maria in Aracoeli, and the church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. A beautiful experience, as Morris from Sweden describes it to us: "Last night we went to the Basilica of St. John in Lateran to pray together. The Church, with its size and statues, decorations and beautiful paintings, was unlike anything I had seen before. I was surprised by the number of people who had found their way up there, and the prayer itself was incredible. It is a memory that I keep with me for the future, for this prayer has touched me so much! "
A HAPPY AND HOLY YEAR TO ALL !
