From 4 to 11 November, I was
for the first time in the Scolasticate Community of Manilla. Currently the Community is composed of Brothers
Michel Gougeon and Eugene Mwesigye that form the Formation team, Brothers
Frangky and Andreas who are entering their second year of formation, and
Brother Yan who is currently learning English in order to enter in the first
year of formation.
They live in a house in which they had to make some changes and add some rooms including a chapel, adapted to the life of a Community and open to the arrival of other Scholastics. This house is located near the MAPAC (Marist Asia Pacific Center) where our Brothers follow a formation of 2 ½ years – the formation Centre was established by the Marist Brothers for their Scholastics. Our young Brothers, whose presence in Manilla also allows for closer ties with our mission in the Philippines, have been warmly received. Next year, after their first vows the Filipino Novices currently in Japan will join the Indonesian Brothers.
We pray for the Asian branch of the Congregation, which opens with the arrival of young Indonesian and Filipino Brothers

Of course, we pray also for
the many victims of the typhoon that devastated entire regions in the central Philippines.
The website of the Congregation gives some news of our Brothers who are in the
Antique region.
