Entonces,
yo pregunto : ¿ Es que no has oído ?
This morning’s reading was taken from St. Paul's Letter to the Romans:"It is by believing with the heart that
you are justified, and by making the declaration with your lips that you are
saved..." and he further adds: "Faith
comes from what is heard; and what one hears is the word of Christ. So I
ask the question: have we not heard? But yes, of course! One Psalm says: in the entire earth their voice stands
out, their message reaches the whole world".(Rom 10: 10; 17-18). Pope
Francis commented on this text before the Christians of Central Africa gathered
around him during Mass this Monday, 30th November, just before his
departure: "The cry of the messengers sounds more than ever in our ears,
even as times are hard ... And it sounds here today in this land of Central
Africa; it sounds again in our hearts, in our families, in our parishes, and wherever
we live ... We are all called, each one of us, to be this messenger that our
brother, regardless of his ethnicity, religion, and culture awaits, often
without knowing. How...... will this brother believe in Christ ... if the Word
is neither heard nor proclaimed?"This Word, who will proclaim it?
